Abrasive disc user: Gavin Hadley
Tool used: Right Angle Grinder
The situation: Norton Blaze Rapid Strip and Vortex Rapid blend help to make a Land Rover Defender Log Burner.
Abrasive disc actions: Removal of scale, coarse marks and polishing of log burner.
The result: Norton Blaze Rapid Strip helped to remove scale and coarse marks from a mild steel tube, whilst  Norton Rapid Blend smoothed out all of the TIG welds producing fantastic results.

An interesting application of surface conditioning discs:
Gavin from Metal Art & Fabrications put the Norton surface conditioning discs to good use whilst creating a Land Rover Defender log burner. The log burner was based on a customers partners vehicle (interesting gift to give to your other half). The log burner looks absolutely brilliant and is a magnificent work of art. We are thrilled that Gavin chose to use the Norton surface conditioning discs for his project.
How did Gavin use the surface conditioning discs?
Norton Blaze Rapid Strip was used to remove scale from the mild steel tube being used for the log burner, normally Gavin would use a 24 grit sanding disc to remove the scale and an 80 grit flap disc to remove any coarse marks and polish.
Norton Vortex Rapid Blend was used to smooth all of the TIG welds from tube to sheet joints, resulting in an immaculate finish when painted.
Gavin said: “This Land Rover log burner was one of my favourite builds. I will be getting some of the discs in stock – very impressed with the results!”
