Automotive aftermarket: Abrasives and Performance Plastics showcase Saint-Gobain synergies at the SEMA Show
Two of Saint-Gobain’s aftermarket automotive businesses came together again to exhibit at this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, held November 1-4. As the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world, the SEMA Show attracts more than 100,000 industry leaders from more than 100 countries.
Promoting a “Navigating Your Road to Success” tagline, Saint-Gobain Abrasives and Solar Gard jointly presented a full portfolio of automotive refinishing and restyling products in a road trip-themed booth.
Solar Gard highlighted its Clearshield® Pro Paint Protection Film and new Ultra Performance Plus 80 Window Film – as well as industry favorite ComputerCut® Film-Cutting Software – with demos throughout the show on a 2017 BMW X6 M Series SUV. The wildly popular Zero to 60 Designs GTT model unveiled at the event, also featured Solar Gard film products in its debut. Solar Gard Channel Market Manager Lindsay Webdell shares, “Featuring the position of Saint-Gobain within the aftermarket automotive industry – especially alongside our Abrasives colleagues at this year’s event – is such an impactful and important message to communicate to our distribution partners around the world. Saint-Gobain Abrasives collaborated with Flyte Camp, North America’s premier vintage travel trailer restoration and renovation company, to restore a 1950 Westcraft Coronado vintage travel trailer. The Flyte Camp team used a wide variety of Norton Abrasives automotive and DIY refinishing products for the project, as well as products distributed under Saint-Gobain Abrasives’ “Refinish Solutions Group” (RSG) umbrella brand in North America. “From our relationship with Flyte Camp to our alliances with RSG brands Dynabrade, DeVilbiss, IPG American Brand Tape, Mothers, this beautifully restored trailer is a physical representation of the full breadth of automotive refinishing products available from Saint-Gobain Abrasives, and a testament to the power of these partnerships”, says Casi Rhodes, Marketing & Communications Manager, Saint-Gobain Abrasives.
