Your time is valuable. That's why Norton and Vermont Natural Coatings have developed a way to stain and finish a new floor in just one day, with new EasyWhey Floor Color.

Our revolutionary formula uses the power of natural whey protein to create an unconventional, yet strong and versatile colored coating that enhances any interior wood floor.

EasyWhey will even provide consistent finish on difficult to stain woods. Follow along with these easy steps for application of EasyWhey Floor Color on a new floor, then experience the time and material savings for yourself.

Start by using Norton abrasive products to sand and prepare the floor using NWFA industry standards. Vacuum and wipe surface clean prior to coating. Apply two coats of Norton Vermont Natural Coatings PolyWhey 3000 Sealer to floor. Be sure to close all windows and doors, and turn off HVAC system prior to coating, to ensure finish flows and levels properly.

Rock container of sealer back and forth several times to mix before applying to floor. Use a dampened T‑bar, quarter‑inch or three, eight‑inch nap roller sleeve, or painter's pad to apply sealer and pull the sealer with the grain of the wood.

Maintain a wet edge at all times. Be sure to feather out all turns. Avoid moving too quickly and maintain steady, medium pressure to avoid applicator drips. Apply sealer at the recommended coverage rate of 500 to 600 square feet per gallon, spreading evenly across the floor.

The single‑component sealer provides great coverage. Allow sealer to dry one‑and‑a‑half to two hours between coats. For best results, abrade after each coat of sealer with a yellow Norton SandDollar, or 220‑grit Norton PSA sheets on a maroon pad.

Choose from six color options ‑‑ oak, cherry, walnut, gray, white wash, or ebony. Keeping in mind EasyWhey is intended for darkening new or existing finished floors. Up to four coats of EasyWhey Floor Color can be applied to achieve desired depth of color. Thoroughly shake and stir EasyWhey Floor Color before applying to the floor.

Use a microfiber applicator to apply EasyWhey with the grain of the wood. Keep microfiber applicator saturated at all times. Be sure to feather out all turns. Avoid moving too quickly and maintain steady, medium pressure to avoid applicator drips.

Apply EasyWhey at the recommended coverage rate of 1,000 square foot per quart, spreading evenly across the floor.

EasyWhey provides great coverage. Allow the first coat to dry 20 to 30 minutes. No abrading is necessary between coats. Apply up to three more coats, allowing each coat to dry 20 to 30 minutes.

No abrading is necessary prior to application of Norton Vermont Natural Coatings PolyWhey Wood Floor Finish. Apply one to two top coats of PolyWhey over EasyWhey. Use only a dry mop for cleaning floor during the first week. After that, use Norton Vermont Natural Coatings Daily Floor Cleaner as needed, along with vacuuming, to keep your floors looking new.
