Seminar EGTC: Grinding Basics

Grinding is a manufacturing process which belongs according to DIN 8580 to the abrasive machining processes. The tools used have – in contrast to turning, milling and drilling tools - geometrically undefined cutting edges. Typical abrasives are corundum (Al2O3), silicon carbide (SiC), cubic crystalline boron nitride (cBN) or diamond (C).

The aim of the seminar is to improve the fundamental understanding of the grinding process which enables you to respond more
effectively to day-to-day challenges in grinding applications. The seminar will cover a broad range of subjects, starting with
grinding and dressing tools, their build-up, grinding and dressing, process optimization and cooling conditions that support an economic grinding process.
