SAME GAME. DIFFERENT RULES

GRINDING WHEELS BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW THEM

Purpose-built for light grinding operations, Norton Abrasives introduces Norton Quantum3 Light Comfort Grinding (LCG) wheels.

Offering more finesse and control over the traditional 7mm thick grinding wheel, this latest product range really is the “same game” (grinding) but with “different rules” (a significant operational improvement in light grinding) as the 3mm thick ceramic wheel grinds with speed, comfort, and precision.

The 3mm thickness makes the wheel lightweight, perfect for battery powered / cordless grinders as lower power is required to start-up and maintain the revolutions of the wheel. In fact, LCG wheels help to achieve up to 50% more battery life than standard 7mm aluminium oxide grinding wheels. This equates to approximately 40% more material removal.

“LCG wheels have been designed with the infrequent, light user in mind.” Said Derk Vruwink, Senior Product Manager for Thin Wheels at Saint-Gobain Abrasives.

“Previously, the only options were a 7mm grinding wheel, flap disc or fibre disc. Each product has its own limitations in light grinding but our new 3mm product addresses those drawbacks and delivers a solution that is the ideal choice for these kinds of applications."

"With the addition of the 3mm wheel, Norton can offer customers a Quantum3 ceramic solution for every metal working application."

In addition, Norton are also unveiling an LCG grinding wheel for Multi-Materials. This is a wheel designed to tackle thin steel, stone, copper, PVC and aluminium; one wheel for all construction and installation jobs.
