A brand of Saint-Gobain

CREATE GREAT LIVING PLACES AND IMPROVE DAILY LIFE

When Norton Company was purchased by Saint-Gobain in 1990 we became part of a corporate entity with more than 350 years of materials history. Designing, manufacturing and distributing materials and solutions which are key ingredients in the wellbeing of each of us and the future of all, Saint-Gobain can be found everywhere in our living places and our daily life: in buildings, transportation, infrastructure and in many industrial applications. They provide comfort, performance and safety while addressing the challenges of sustainable construction, resource efficiency and climate change. And today, Saint-Gobain is not only one of the top 100 leading industrial corporations but it is also ranked among the top 100 global innovators by Thomson Reuters’. These impressive credentials mean that the Norton brand has access to a larger family of product and technical expertise.

How Norton fits in?

In 2001, Norton Company changed our legal entity name to Saint-Gobain Abrasives. Saint-Gobain Abrasives is one of four High Performance Materials businesses within the Innovative Materials sector of Saint-Gobain. Globally, Saint-Gobain Abrasives consists of 61 manufacturing facilities across 27 countries with over 10,600 employees. We retained the Norton name as our premiere brand in the marketplace and continue to develop solutions for everything from wheels to polish the grains of rice that appear on your dinner table to sanding discs to finish wind turbine blades that offer a future choice in energy efficiency.
