SMALL BUT MIGHTY

At 75mm & 50mm the RazorStar® R990S 36+ quick change discs are perfect for grinding small areas or intricate shapes like turbine blades and nozzle guide vanes.​ 

The strong polyester backing provides aggression for medium to high pressure grinding and reduces machine down time and maximises parts finished.​

STRONG YET FLEXIBLE

Thanks to the strong polyester backing, the quick change discs offer flexibility for use on flat surfaces as well as curves, corners and edges. 

When used on a flat surface the discs can be used with a Norton back-up pad of the same diameter so the disc is fully supported and provides even pressure distribution. For curves and contours, where more flexibility is required, a smaller back up pad can be used to allow the disc to conform to the edges of the workpiece, achieving a consistent cut.

SELECTING THE RIGHT BACK-UP PAD

Using the Norton TR back-up pad with RazorStar® quick change discs can give an application advantage.

On flat surfaces: match the diameter of the disc to the back-up pad so the disc is fully supported. This gives an even surface pressure when grinding to achieve a more uniform surface finish.

On curves and contours: use a smaller back-up pad to allow the disc to conform to the edges.  This gives the disc better flexibility to conform to the contours of the work-piece.
