Designed for hand-sanding applications, Oakey Liberty Green delivers the same reliable results long associated with the Oakey brand while meeting growing customer and consumer demand for more sustainable DIY and decorating solutions.
A New Generation of Sandpaper
The updated Oakey Liberty Green range has been developed using a carefully engineered blend of recycled grain and recycled paper backing, sourced from post-industrial recycling streams. This new formula has been extensively tested to ensure no compromise on performance, durability or finish quality.
Benchmark testing confirmed that the new Liberty Green recipe removes the same amount of material as the previous formulation, within a 2% tolerance, across grits 60, 80 and 120.
What’s Inside: A More Sustainable Recipe
Oakey Liberty Green sandpaper is made using:
- A minimum of 27% recycled materials* within each product
- Recycled grain, sourced from post-industrial abrasive products
- Recycled paper backing, combined with FSC®-certified virgin fibres
The recycled paper backing is produced using a balanced mix of recycled and responsibly sourced virgin fibres, helping maintain the strength, durability and sanding performance expected by professionals and DIYers alike.
Building on parent company Saint-Gobain Abrasives’ transparency leadership as the first to publish an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for abrasives, Oakey Liberty Green products are EPD verified, providing lifecycle environmental footprint data.
