NORTON INTRODUCES CUTTING AND GRINDING DISCS MADE WITH RECYCLED MATERIALS, INTO THE DIY MARKET

Norton is pleased to announce the launch of its new generation DIY cutting and grinding discs, which incorporate recycled materials. The new discs are made of 25% recycled grain with a recycled metal steel centre, contributing to a minimum of 14% total recycled content.

A breakthrough in manufacturing

Myriam Mormin, Product Manager Cutting & Grinding Discs at Saint-Gobain reveals “We are delighted to be one of the first manufacturers to produce cutting and grinding discs made with recycled materials, which are supported by an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This offers a transparent and standardized assessment of the environmental footprint of the discs throughout their lifecycle.” She continues “we’ve also carried out intensive testing with our R&D team to confirm the use of recycled materials does not compromise product performance. Users can expect the same exceptional quality and performance from Norton Expert cutting and grinding disc they know and love today.”

The Benefits of Recycled Materials

  • Recycled grain: each cutting disc contains 25% recycled grain.
  • Recycled steel: the central steel ring is made using 12% recycled steel.
  • The transition will continue throughout 2025-2026.
