Norton Introduces A New Versatile Bond

To meet the expectations of small and medium-sized machining shops, Norton Abrasives has introduced a new VV1 bond for general purpose grinding operations, including surface grinding, OD grinding, saw and tool sharpening.

One of the key features of Norton VV1 is its versatility. Available for aluminium oxide grains, the bond is compatible with many alloys and works across a wide range of applications and grinding parameters. With the VV1 grinding wheel, numerous small to medium-volume jobs can be run on the same machine, eliminating time-consuming changeovers and adjustments.

Testing has shown that the VV1 wheels consume significantly less power than the equivalent abrasive tools, resulting in less friction. Lower energy consumption and reduced dressing requirements result in lower CO2 emissions and thus reduce the environmental impact linked to the operation.

Jerome Legrand, Product Manager for Norton Bonded Vitrified Products, claims: "Thanks to its formulation Norton VV1 works in various field conditions. The wheels are easy to use and do not require advanced grinding skills or technical knowledge. You can simply mount it on the machine and use to grind different parts with just one wheel."
