The Norton Vulcan R842 flap disc is a versatile product and works on various material types from stainless steel, cast iron to carbon and black steels.  Norton Vulcan R842 is ideal for metal fabricators who are looking for a flexible product which can tackle rough grinding and bevelling to deburring and semi finishing with ease.  The flap disc contains an exclusive Norton zirconia grain that self sharpens during use to expose new cutting faces and thereby extending product life. 

Norton Vulcan R842 offers both a high and regular cut rate and is comfortable to use, as it produces little vibration during low and medium pressure grinding. The Norton Vulcan R842 has an excellent price-performance ratio and is a cost effective solution for metal fabricators.

The Norton Vulcan R842 was featured in our video ‘How to make a patio heater’.  It was used during the stock removal process to remove the burrs and to quickly tidy up the sharp edges on steel using grit 60. (The disc is a versatile product for rough grinding and de-burring on steel and stainless steel). It was also used in the scale and rust removal step before welding to avoid contamination and for a neat weld seam.
