Norton Red Heat Upgrades Coarse-Grit Belts and Rolls

Cut faster, eliminate steps, and start achieving the best finish from the first moment your sander touches the floor with the new, upgraded Norton Red Heat coarse-grit belts and rolls. Using customer feedback as a guide, the Norton Red Heat floor sanding portfolio is now more complete and better than ever.

Said one early user about the new coarse-grit options, “It pulled like a freight train the entire time and did not seem to slow down at the end. I will stop buying Bona Green now the full grit-range is available,” Kurt Dozik, Contractor, Detroit, MI.

To implement the upgrade, Norton refined the manufacturing process to improve the grain orientation, resulting in more cutting points and making more grain available on the surface. This increased the initial cut rate while matching the clean scratch pattern found in finer grits. Now, there’s a full-range grit sequence needed to complete a floor sanding project with Norton Red Heat from start to finish.

Summary of product improvements:

  • Increased grain weight in belts and rolls across all coarse grits – 24, 36, 40, 50, and 60 -- for up to 30% improvement in cut rate
  • Greater durability for longer life
  • Stronger, heavier, and more resilient y-weight polyester backing across the entire portfolio
  • Same great scratch pattern – still the cleanest in floor sanding
  • No major visual change in appearance
